Spend your Christmas holidays in a different way: enjoy the sunshine while it is cold and dark in other country’s.

During this relaxed group trip, you will discover different sides of The Gambia. We stay at Franco Inn in Tanji and from there explore the country, its nature, culture and everyday life.

There is plenty of room for excursions, encounters and activities, but also for relaxing and enjoying your surroundings. This gives you the opportunity to experience The Gambia in a personal way and see more than just the tourist areas.

Programme

Day 1 – Arrival in The Gambia
Arrival, room allocation, food and a warm welcome. We take a walk around the area and, if needed, help with exchanging money and getting a SIM card.

Day 2 – Tanji Fish Market & Museum
After breakfast, we visit the Tanji Fish Market and the Tanji Museum. Afterwards, we have lunch at Franco Inn and there is time to relax and swim. In the evening, dinner and a traditional evening.

Day 3 – Brikama & Kayaking
After breakfast, we visit Brikama Craft Market and the Animal Market. We have lunch at Franco Inn and then go kayaking. Dinner in the evening.

Day 4 – Monkey Park, Crocodile Pool & Serrekunda
We visit Monkey Park and the Crocodile Pool. Afterwards, we have lunch in the Senegambia area and visit the market in Serrekunda. Dinner at Franco Inn in the evening.

Day 5 – Beach Day
A relaxing day at the beach, with lunch by the sea. In the evening, dinner and a cosy campfire.

Day 6 – Snake Farm & Djembé Workshop
After breakfast, we visit the Snake Farm. Afterwards, we have lunch at Franco Inn and take part in a djembé workshop. Dinner in the evening.

Day 7 – Lamin Lodge & Boat Trip
We visit Lamin Lodge. Afterwards, we have lunch and take a boat trip, including a visit along the Elephant Tree. Dinner at Franco Inn in the evening.

Day 8 – Departure
Breakfast and departure. Depending on the flight time, there may still be time to relax before leaving for the airport.
